Giuseppe Renato Lombardi

Took orders in Oria where he studied jew language, phisics, chemistry, mathematics and morals. In 1798 he moved to naples to Regia university where he obtained 2 degrees, one in theology and the second one in law. He returned to oria where he became professor under Papatodero and he tought ancient history of jeew, roman and greek and becoming archeologist. He was a real selfless individual he founded with his own money ”il ritiro dell orfane dell immacolata”, also he helped with the building of the public library donating some of his books. He wrote the following masterpieces “dissertazione storico-critica about the life of martiri crisanto and daria’’ “annotazioni e commenti alla fortuna di oria del papadopero, con cerni cronologici sul vescovado oritiano’’
