In 1433 Oria was subject for another siege under Giacomo Caldora, famous leader of the time. After it become feud of Orismi del Balzo, who beutify the city. Prince Giovanni Antonio del Balzo rebuild Porta Degli Ebrei, the Francescani church ( where the new church of San Franceasco Assis is) and beutify the castle in celebration of the marriage between his niece Isabella di Chiaramonte and king Alfonso I d Aragona son, Ferdinando I.
From 1500 to 1600

During early 1500 Oria was again under different assaults, famous was the war against the Spanish that according to historian San Barsanofio, Oria was able to resisit the attack thanks to its brave citizens. San Barsonofio was the bishop of Oria and Ostumi, from he powerful Caraffa family, he was nominated Pope under the name of Pope Paolo IV, it was him to start the inquisition of prohibited books. The city went from noble family to noble family thorought the years. In 1572 the city was controlled by the Borromeo family and late on by Imperiali family.
